The Peasant Bar and Restaurant - London, United Kingdom
    Worth taking a trip to (09.06.2007 11:45)
The Clerkenwell area is stuffed with great top end places to eat out. From Exmouth market where the fantastic Moro is located, to Clerkenwell road which is home to The Zetter, style hotel and fantastic Italian restaurant. It also seems to be a place which attrracts great Gastro pubs and this is the category I'd put the Peasant into. The first ever Gastro pub is located on Farringdon Road - [more...]

Excellent Traditional English Food (22.05.2007 21:36)
I went along to the Butlers Wharf Chop house on saturday for lunch with friends and had a great meal. If you like traditional English fare, riverside surroundings and a high level of service I'd say the Chop House will score pretty highly for you. The BW Chop House is part of the Terrance Conran group and one of 4 other Conran restaurants in the immediate vicinity. It is housed in an old wharf [more...]

    Languish at Langans (22.05.2007 21:31)
Excuse the cheesy pun of a title but Langans really is a very lazy, loungey type of place. Situated on right of Green Park tube station in London is Stratton Street and half way down on the left is Langans. The reason I first heard of Langans was that my first ever boss used to love the place. He'd get me to book him a table there for lunch with various business associates, and always [more...]

    A-Maze-ing (21.05.2007 23:00)
Maze is the latest London based Gordon Ramsey restaurant, located at 10-13 Grosvenor Square in a townhouse type building. If you aren't familiar with Grovesnor square it is just off Bond Street, near Claridges, so the setting is pretty grand which I think sets the scene for the restaurant itself. The reason I ended up at Maze was over Christmas my good friend told me he was planning to [more...]

    Claridges (20.05.2007 20:39)
Introduction Before I begin I'd just like to point out that this review is strictly on the afternoon teas at Claridges and not on any other aspect of the hotel. 'Im getting married in the morning, ding dong the bells are goanna chime' ok Im not actually getting married tomorrow but on the 16th of September this year I will be a Mrs. Why is that relevant to Claridges I hear you ask? Well [more...]

toptable There is a website called toptable . In a nut shell toptable allows you to earn points for each restaurant booking you make through them. The only catch is that the restaurant must be registered on their website. Also it's mainly a London thing as the representation of regional restaurants is rather patchy. I had reached the requisite amount of points to get myself a freebie meal [more...]

In East Dulwich, London, there is a street that just seems to keep adding quality food establishment after quality food establishment. Its name? Lordship Lane. For those in the know there truly is no reason to shlap into central London for good food and drink. On this wonderous street already, are to name just a few: The Palmerston - fantastic gastro pub, Franklins - amazingly good value [more...]

    J. Sheekey 28-32 St. Martin's Court London WC2N 4AL Tel: 020 7240 2565 J Sheeky to give the restaurant its correct title is so good its in my personal top 3 so Im going to enjoy writing this review. To set the scene first of all, as many of you are probably aware already J Sheeky is the sister restaurant to The Ivy and Le Caprice. It has been owned by Caprice Holdings since 1998 but [more...]

Exciting atmosphere, but no celebs to be seen (13.05.2007 18:36)
Oxford Street. Two words that strike dread into the heart of every sane Londoner. The busiest road in the capital, where the average walking speed drops to an inch a hour thanks to all the lovely tourists and shoppers clogging it up. Anyone who thinks shopping on Oxford Street is fun should be clapped in irons and tortured with a hot pokerharsh moi? But what if I was to tell you that there is [more...]
