The Palace of Holyroodhouse - Edinburgh, United Kingdom
The Palace of Holyroodhouse (25.04.2008 20:28)
The Palace of Holyroodhouse is the official residence of Her Majesty the Queen in Scotland. The royal apartments are used regularly by The Queen for official entertaining and State ceremonies. They are all beautifully decorated with many works of art from the royal collection. It is set in the large Queens Park where the Queen hosts a garden party in July every year .The year I was offered the [more...] -
Lake Mead - Las Vegas, United States of America
The Hoover Dam and Lake Mead (24.04.2008 23:57)
When we were on holiday in Las Vegas we thought an interesting trip would be to the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead so we booked a tour in an air conditioned coach as it was July and Nevada was extremely hot. Outside it was 120 degrees and the air conditioning could not cope by the time was neared the dam we had nearly cooked. Our first glimpse of this impressive structure was from high up on the [more...] -
Metropark - Hongkong, Hong Kong - September, 2007
Ideal Hong Kong Location (06.04.2008 16:04)
When trying to decide on a hotel for our trip to Hong Kong we did a lot of research and opted for the Metro Park Hotel in Causeway bay rather than its sister hotel in Kowloon. This was mainly due to its location in a quieter part of town and its superb transport links. The hotel is roughly three quarters of an hour from the airport and the bus to the airport stops at the door of the hotel, as our [more...] -
Sol Magalluf Park - Magalluf, Spain - January, 2008
Winter Sunshine (02.02.2008 17:30)
When we decided on a week away in January we chose the Sol Magalluf Park hotel as it came highly recommended, and we certainly werent disappointed. The location of the hotel is just behind the famous Magulluf Strip of infamous depending on your point of view however in January this is not relevant as most of the clubs and bars were closed. On arrival check in was very efficient with three members [more...] -
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Komplex - Cape Canaveral, United States of America
We have lift off (09.01.2008 13:36)
When the subject of visiting the Kennedy Space Centre was broached I was a bit dubious but as the men in the family were all keen I went along for the ride. You enter the complex through Spaceport Central where you can pick up information, wheelchairs, buggies and can buy tickets. Kennedy itself is free but to enjoy it to the full a bus tour to the NASA Space Shuttle facility and a tour to the [more...] -

Light Camera Action (09.01.2008 13:29)
MGM Studios is the smallest of the Disney Parks but still has a lot to offer whetheryou are a movie buff or just looking for a fun day out. A day trip can cost in the regionof £35 but you do get a lot for your money but a hopper pass which gives you accessto all the Disney parks is by far the best value. At the entrance to the park you can pick up maps wheelchairs buggies or hire a locker for the [more...] -
Hong Kong Disneyland - Hongkong, Hong Kong
Disney Hong Kong Style (07.01.2008 23:28)
Hong Kong Disneyland is situated on Lantau Island where it was built on reclaimed land. It was opened in 2005 and covers approximately 100 acres though expansion plans are in the pipeline this is the smallest of the Disneyland resorts. It is very easy to get to from Hong Kong as the MTR runs there with the last leg of the journey from Sunny Bay station being on a Disney themed train with Mickey [more...] -
Taronga Zoo - Sydney, Australia
Zoo with a View (30.12.2007 23:03)
Taronga Zoo has been described as the most picturesque zoo in the world and I certainly would not argue with that. It is situated across the bay from the Sydney Opera house in a location called Mosman and has been its home since it was opened in 1916. They best way to approach the zoo is by ferry from Circular Quay and the crossing takes around 12 minutes other ways are by bus from the city [more...] -
The Peak Tram - Hongkong, Hong Kong
The Pride of Hong Kong (17.10.2007 17:57)
When on our trip to Hong Kong one of the thing on our to do list was a trip to Victoria peak to take in the marvellous view and ride on the famous peak tram. The History The tram has been in existence since 1888 when it was officially opened by the Governor and in these days the wooden tram was powered by coal fired boilers. It was not till 1926 that it was changed to electricity and the [more...] -
