I have been lodged with my family at the cabins "Solares Del Sur" the last month. The cabins-aparts have an excellent view to the Argentine lake and are wide to be comfortable with the family.
The cabins are completely equipped (television with great variety of channels, heating in all the rooms, Internet, complete kitchen, etc.) and though the same ones are placed to 1.5 Km from the center, you can go walking or request a taxi in the hotel, so it has not been a problem for us.
The people that work there have received us very friendly, welcoming, they were nicely with us.
The staff is little, but the attention is excellent. They offer a great service and if you have a problem, they are ready to help yourself. They have given us information about the excursions that we could do, the best restaurants where to be able to be going to eat besides the restaurant "Quidu", in the same complex, which really is excellent. Not only for the food and the good wine (it was the only one restaurant where we could choose a menu for our childs), also for the great view to the lake that has.
I don't know if we will come back to visit El Calafate, but if we would do it undoubtedly we would choose the same hotel.
