, 01/01/2008] We travelled to Majorca in November, so we did not have the problem of mass tourism in the peak summer period. El Arenal is located on the east coast, and can be lively in the summer, especially with the Germans, but not now in the winter months. Only a few of the German and English bars are open along the front but quite a lot of the touristy shops remain open selling their tat. The beach promenade is lined with Palm trees and is popular for Spanish and foreigners who stroll along at a leisurely pace, taking in the views with the relaxing sound of the waves breaking against the beach.
