Depending on which direction you come from the Van der Valk hotel lies along the highway. It’s a typical location for the Van der Valk hotel chain because these hotels are always near a highway. This makes them very appealing for business travellers. At the town of Eemnes you can already see the hotel. There is a large parking space available near the hotel where you need to buy a ticket but when staying at the hotel the parking is free. Otherwise you will have to pay 1,60 euro per hour. There is plenty enough room to park my car and I saw that there were a few disabled parking at the entrance.
You enter the hotel trough an automatic sliding door and you enter a luxurious lobby which feels very spacious and has beautifully tiled floor which looks very shiny. The reception is clearly recognisable with the two staff members standing behind the desk with their uniforms on. I was friendly welcomed and helped with a smile which I find very important. All the details where in their computer so checking in was very easy.
In front of the lobby you will find some comfortable chairs and where you have the possibility of having a drink and there are some magazines and newspapers. It all has a very welcoming ambiance and it does make me feel comfortable almost at being at home. You also have a few toilets which looked clean and well taken care of.
To reach your room you need to walk towards the restaurant where you will find elevators to your left. With the key of your hotel room you can enter the elevator which is spacious and there is more than enough space for you and your suitcase. The elevator runs smoothly and fast.
I had booked a standard room which felt large and looked modern. I paid 105 euro’s for two nights in this room including breakfast. I have stayed several times at a Van der Valk hotel so I know what to expect and you always get quality. The beds are normally very good and you have several facilities as a television to wireless internet on your room. Most important is that the room feels spacious and everything looks and is clean. What I loved about my room was that I had a balcony which felt really nice so sit outside since it was nice weather.
The bathroom is ok and has everything what you need. There was a bath, sink and toilet with some free products like shampoo and shower gel. Always nice when that’s in the room. Also the bathroom looked very clean and was cleaned every day. The towels were replaced every day which is good.
The hotel has over 129 rooms and all of them are renovated and varies in price rang. You could clearly see that the room were renovated when you looked at the bathroom which had a modern shower and bath facilities. A big plus!
At the hotel is a large restaurant with a lunch menu and a dinner menu. The staff was very friendly but sometimes a bit inexperienced. The quality of the food was very good and it’s what you can expect from the Van der Valk hotel. The atmosphere was very good but again the staff sometimes a bit slow with bringing the order and coming to ask if everything was ok. Breakfast is also served here and is a buffet which looked very extensive. It’s very well prepared and quickly refilled when something was gone.
