Located on Leith's waterfront, The Kitchin is owned and managed by Tom & Michaela Kitchen. Tom Kitchen was awarded his first Michelin star in January 2007, and is the youngest Scottish Chef to ever recieve a star. The menu is seasonal, reflecting the restaurant's philosophy - "From Nature to Plate"- with all ingredients locally sourced and everything being made from scratch. "This is a chef's restaurant, and anyone coming here for a meal has a right to expect it will have been prepared by the chef." The Kitchin was voted Best Newcomer Restaurant in Scotland in 2007 by Metro readers.
