Detailed review by Dalka
Edinburgh Castle sits on history and is history itself. It created it--the history of a town we now call Edinburgh. It is the ultimate castle, everything you might want from one when you are not from Great Britain.
As a tourist, I was amazed by the beauty of the castle. Positioned on top of a volcanic rock, the castle is amazing in its nature and looks.
I started my tour with a book in one hand and a recorded guide in the other, with headphones on my head. Every room and every attraction and monument has a number. When you press the button on the audio guide, you begin to listen. And you hear history you never knew before.
Stories of enchanted rooms, of prisoners, of drama and joy.
And then suddenly you hear the 1 O'clock gun. The pictures you take near it are never to be forgotten. You can see the entire city from the castle and the view is amazing.
Whatever direction you look, you can either see the mountains of The Kingdom of Fife, Princes Street Gardens, or Royal Mile.
There is history all around you and a lot of material for your incredible story telling after you are back from your holiday in this amazing city and area.
