Residents will be able to experience surrounding views from the "extraordinary, two-acre rooftop garden". Nearly half of the 65 bedrooms incorporate "patios opening onto the garden" whilst others have "terraces with views of the Firth of Forth or Calton Hill". Inside the bedrooms there are "exceedingly comfortable" beds, bathrooms with "under-floor heating", walls adorned with "female nudes" and "remote control curtains". The suites are described as "spacious" with "canny slatted-wood dividers that house flip-over flat screen TVs". Although there is no restaurant in the hotel, guests are entitled to a "full Scottish breakfast" in The Observatory room. It is also possible to order "Champagne and pizza" from room service. The hotel is to some extent "stylish and discreet", but the atmosphere is "not the most gregarious" on account of there being only a few socializing areas.
