Location. The George Hotel is a Grade II listed building located on George Street in the central shopping area of Edinburgh, Scotland. George Street runs parallel to Princes Street, the city's main shopping area, close to department stores like Harvey Nichols. The National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery are 500 metres from the hotel, while Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile are within a mile. Edinburgh Waverley train station is half a mile from the hotel, and Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is eight miles away.
Hotel Features. The George Hotel was designed by famous Edinburgh architect Robert Adam more than 200 years ago. Its Georgian facade leads into a lobby featuring white columns, brown leather chairs, classical music and fresh flowers. The multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk can answer queries and put valuables in the hotel safe.

The Tempus bar and restaurant serves modern Scottish dishes like Buccleugh beef and Loch Fyne oysters. It features pre Raphaelite style paintings, wooden floors and soft lighting.
