Oltre al festival delle bande military chiamato Military tatoo, (il suono della cornamusa vi accompagnerà per tutto il soggiorno!) la città si dimostra un teatro a cielo aperto in ogni suo angolo. Due infatti i festival che si svolgono in contemporanea: il Festival ufficiale, con i grandi nomi, ed il festival Off, chiamato Fringe. Il nome, che in italiano significa letteralmente"ai margini", simboleggia come il festival off faccia "da spalla" a quello ufficiale. This review starts with the advantages and disadvantages of the festival. You'll "meet loads of good people", according to the author but you'll get "Scottish weather" there! He lists an impressive list of different nationalities who attend each year, and says that the whole area is "totally buzzing with people". It is possible to enjoy it without spending "a penny". He details a few of the events and recommends the "Freak Circus" which lasts 3 hours. The "general atmosphere is easy", with "no hassle".
