The roof of the debating chamber in particular takes the form of a boat.

The building won a number of architectural awards and is free to visit, although a paid guided tour is available at a cost of £5.00.

When the Parliament is in session, visiting times are 9 am to 7 pm, and at other times 10 am to 6 pm from April to October and 10 am to 4 pm from November to March.
