It is conveniently located "on King Edward's Parade not far from Eastbourne's bandstand" and takes its name from the famous novel of the same name. Upon arrival the girl at reception "smiled politely" as the writer "glanced around the all-white room" noting that it "looked like an overgrown ice-box".
