| Description: |
The James Hamilton Heritage Park is situated on the outskirts of East Kilbride. It is free to visit and car parking is also free. It has seasonal opening hours which are usually about 10am to 5pm daily, but later during the summer months. The Park consists of a 16 acre man-made loch with a small island near one end and a wetland area. There is a very well laid out path around it with ample seating enroute. It is roughly one mile to walk round the loch. There is a childrens' playground, a cafe and a Visitors Centre. It is a haven for all types of water sports and canoes, wind surf equipment, rowing boats, pedaloes, and bumper boats are all available to hire for a small fee. It is also a great place to feed and spot birds and is home to several families of swans. |
