Compiled for you: The facts!Details The National Museum of Rural Life

Description: The National Museum of Rural Life is described as a "living" museum. It is a joint venture between the National Trust and National Museum for Scotland. There are displays of farming artifacts from all over Scotland.

The farmhouse dates from 1783 and the farm steadings have been set up to recreate life as it was like in the 1950's Exhibits include the actual tools and clothes used.

It is open daily from 10am till 5pm and there are special events throughout the year.

While you can make use of the garden for picnics it has to be noted this is not really a suitable venue for very young children. Pre booked school trips are free.
