Description:	Smoo Cave is located 2km east of the village of Durness and is one of the largest caves in Scotland. The entrance to the cave is over 15 metres high, 39 metres wide and 61 metres deep. It is also the only showcaves in Scotland. There are a number of legends regarding the history and origins of the cave. Visitors can expect to encounter badgers, rabbits, seals, a range of birdlife and diverse flora. Details of the geology and archaeology of the caves is available at the website. Entry to the cave is free but access to it is via a steep, narrow cliff path which would not be suitable for disabled people.
