The Fossil Tree B&B is a welcoming and homely 200 year old guest house, formerly Stanhope Castle's Hunting Lodge. The Castle itself forms the focal point of the village & dates from 1795, built on the original location of a medieval castle.
The Fossil Tree Bed & Breakfast has been tastefully appointed to give its guests a comfortable, relaxed & friendly “home from home” B&B with views over the Norman Church of St Thomas’s (dating from 1200 AD) and our B&B also uniquely looks directly onto the famous 250 Million year old giant Fossil Tree.
