It enjoys a location right in the heart of the city centre on Merrin Row, just off St. Stephen's Green. It is within easy walking distance of all of the city centre's main tourist attractions including Dublin Castle and the popular Temple Bar.
The building dates back to 1789 and it has been under the ownership of the O'Donoghue family since 1934. The central location means that there is no car parking available.
The accommodations are basic but all of the rooms have been recently refurbished and include a television set and fridge. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities and a telephone, but there is no capacity for baby cribs.
O'Donoghue's does not offer meals to its guests and instead all room rates are on a room only basis. Its location however ensures that there are a number of café's and restaurants within close vicinity.
O'Donoghue's Bar is famous as a pub where many musical Irish legends have played including the Dubliners, which have made it a regular haunt. Live traditional Irish music is played most nights.
