Delhi Darbar hotel is situated at the heart of the Deira business and commercial area of Dubai. It is around a 10 minute drive from Dubai International Airport. Due to its location it is a very convenient place to stay because it is only minutes from the world famous Gold Souk. There are banks and money exchange bureaus just a short walk down the road, with innumerable gift shops, restaurants and taxis near the hotel. If you want to travel by an abra (water taxi) then these are found 5 minutes away.
Upon entering the hotel the customer notices the hotels simplicity as well as the modern features, providing comfort to the guests is the main aim of the hotel management and staff. You are welcomed in by a guard that is on duty constantly day and night. The hotel has 36 rooms and 4 suites over 5 floors. There are single, double and triple rooms available in the hotel. There are lifts and stairs on each floor. The hotel has lavish marble flooring throughout with calming waters features included in the décor.
After having completed checking in formalities you are escorted to your room or suite by one of the bell boys where you are shown around and made to feel comfortable. My husband, son and I stayed in one of the suites. Mainly because it was my first time going to Dubai and I wanted it to memorable as well as have comfort. I wasnt looking to stay in one of the luxurious hotels like Burj Al Arab because in my opinion when you are on holiday you spend most of your time out and about enjoying the site rather than in the hotel. I would much rather spend money in shopping in a place like Dubai or eating in nice restaurants then spend it all on the hotel. I know we mostly use the hotel for sleeping and sometimes we have breakfast there but that is it. Delhi Darbar is very nice to relax in and it does not break the bank.
In the facilities that you have in one of the suites is a lounge area with a sofa, coffee table and chairs and Satellite TV. There is a phone in both the lounge area and the bedroom for added convenience. The bedroom has a large bed and cupboards for extra storage, and large windows over looking Naif Road. The bathroom has a bath tub with a built in shower, toilet and wash basins. It is quite spacious, put it this way the whole suite is the size of my flat if not bigger!! Rooms are cleaned every day with towels and bedding being replaced as well as rooms being vacuumed and polished.
The hotel offers room service from 7am to 2am, you can have food ordered up from the hotels own restaurant which is situated next door and goes by the same name Delhi Darbar. They offer cuisine from around the world from Indian dishes to French they have it all. Whether you choose to eat in your room or in the restaurant the price are the same as well as the exquisite service that you receive. The hotel also offers a laundry service whereby you can have your clothes washed and ironed or even dry cleaned an returned to you by the next day.
The hotel also book and arrange desert safaris amongst other activities for guests, the only thing you have to do is get to the coach on time! Everything is catered for. You can leave more valuable items in the hotel safe and as the reception is a 24hr reception someone is always on duty so you do not have to worry about your personal possessions. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and will go out of their way to help you and not just because they are looking for a tip, they are very genuine. Staying at the Delhi Darbar is a very refreshing experience and I would highly recommend it. The hotel offers everything to the customer and for the price it is definitely worth it.
