[happysh2009, 31/10/2009] This year is the 200th anniversary of the birth of one of the world's most eminent scientists, Charles Robert Darwin.
It is also the 150th anniversary of the publication of his groundbreaking book, On the Origins of Species, which continues to be influential to this day.
In the United Kingdom there are many activities to celebrate it. After watching BBC documentaries about his garden and his theories I had a desire to visit his home called Down House.

[waiyin, 20/05/2009] We visited here in May 2009. The house was the home of the famous scientist, Charles Darwin, who wrote the book 'The Origin of Species' and other evolutionary books. It is a fairly large house, which is now managed by the English Heritage. We came here on the 200th anniversary year of Darwin's birth, so there were lots of new displays available. We started the viewing on the first floor, where it had the new exhibition on Darwin's life and his work. There were 5 rooms in total upstairs with 2 additional rooms with activities for children.
