The Crabble Corn Mill is one of the most complete and working examples of a Georgian watermill in Europe. It's a 'working museum' and has six floors of exhibitions as well as working milling machinery which show the process of turning wheat into flour; the organic wholemeal flour the Mill produces is available for sale in the gift shop. The mill contains tea rooms, and they organise quiz nights, folk music nights, lectures and children's crafts events. The entrance charge applies to the main Mill (museum and machinery). The entrance to a small basement gallery housing some local art, exhibits regarding to the history of milling and local history, is free. Opening days and hours: October to Christmas and February to Easter: weekends only Easter to September: Tuesday to Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Open on Bank Holidays) |
