COST
Visitors are charged an entrance fee for the Funky Monkey and this is £3 per adult.

INSIDE
Initially, when you walk inside the Funky Monkey, it looks quite small. There is a comfy seating on the left hand side which consists of a three-sweater sofa and some comfortable armchairs as well as a couple of tables. Straight in front of you there is a small dance floor, which can probably hold about 50 people before it is totally jammed. There is a DJ booth at the front of the dance floor and you can ask the DJ to play any songs you would like to hear.

To the left of the room is the bar which covers the whole left hand side of the room. The bar is plenty big enough for everyone to have a space and we seemed to get served quite quickly.

It wasnt until I needed the toilet that I realised there is actually another room out the back of the main room. This room is the designated smoking area but because the room has no ceiling, the room isnt actually that smoky. This room has around 12 sets of picnic table and chairs for people to sit on. The music system is also linked into this room although the music is much quieter in this room making the atmosphere much more pleasant as you can sit down with friends and have a chat without having the shout over the music. There is also a large plasma screen TV where big sports games are shown such as football and cricket matches. During the evening however, music videos are shown on the large screen.

DRINKS
The Funky Monkey actually have a really good range of drinks, as well as selling all the usual items such as Alco pops, beer and spirits, they also sell a large range of cocktails which is unusual for most of the pubs and bars in Dover. There are laminated cocktails lists which are placed on the bars so you are able to see the ingredients of each cocktail so you can see if you will like them or not before you buy. They quite often have special promotions on some of their drinks and these vary every week. The week we went here, it was the cocktails that were on special offer so if you bought one, you got one free.
