[DidkaMilkova, 18/12/2010] The Kamchia resort complex, at a distance of 12 miles by sea and 30 km by land from Varna, lies at the mouth of the Kamchia River the biggest Bulgarian one that flows into the Black Sea. The complex is situated amid a dense forest (“Longosa), occupying an area of 50 000 ha. A Roman fortress called Erité stood here in ancient times.
The banks of this estuary, with its several arms, are almost tropical in their lushness, rich in flora and bird life. Ancient trees, some of them submerged in the water, weave dense curtains of foliage, reeds crowd the banks and water lilies drift on the surface. To
