Today, Dolserau Hall offers the space and elegance of a Victorian residence, whilst providing the warmth, comfort and facilities of a country house hotel, including lift access to some bedrooms. The hotel’s secluded location ensures peace and quiet, but it is conveniently situated for getting out and about to enjoy the surrounding area.
Resident owners run the hotel, with a small but loyal team providing for all the needs of guests. Large groups, small children, weddings or conferences are not catered for, so as not to spoil the peaceful and idyllic atmosphere of the hotel.
Dolserau has a magical feel in the winter months, and special programmes for Christmas and New Year are always popular.There are 15 rooms in the main house and a further 5 lovely rooms in the beautiful old coach house, which is just 75 metres from the main house and overlooks the walled Victorian garden.
Since almost every room has a spectacular view of the mountains and the surrounding countryside, they are priced mostly according to size and are classified as either classic, superior or the largest, principal.
Comfort is a real priority. Each room is furnished and fitted to the same high standard with good quality beds, top-of-the-range pillows, Egyptian cotton linen, fluffy bath sheets, and high quality Molton Brown toiletries and bath products. There is a fridge on every floor for storing your soft drinks, water and fruit. Fresh milk is provided.At breakfast there is a large buffet with fresh fruit, fruit salad, yogurts, juices, fresh croissants and warm rolls. Hot choices include porridge, a traditional full cooked breakfast and various fish options, as well as a hot vegetarian choice.
Recently completely refurbished in gold and red, the Winter Garden Restaurant overlooks the meadows and mountains and has an AA Rosette. It offers a 4-course menu, which changes every evening. Dinner is available at a fixed price.Dolgellau is the nearest town, situated about 2 miles from the hotel. You can reach it on foot along the old railway track. A 5-minute drive will get you to the main car park in town.
A stone town within the Snowdonia National Park, it rests beneath the Cader Idris range of mountains in the Arran Valley. Once the parliamentary town of Owain Glyndwr and the principal centre of the Meirionnydd wool trade, it remains a busy market town and the home of an important trading centre for Welsh mountain sheep and Welsh Black cattle. Livestock markets are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the year. A small domestic market is held in the Marian car park on Friday mornings. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
