[1krispy1, 03/03/2007] The title gives clue to just two of the shows I have had the pleasure to watch at the Buell Theater in recent times. The Lion King was my last show just a couple of months ago. It was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have also seen The Phantom of the Opera, The Little Shop of Horrors and James Whitmore's one man show on Harry S. Truman all at the Buell Theater. Not one has been a disappointment. I have sat in a variety of locations within the theater and have not had a hard time seeing what is going on.
This theater has very good acoustics and the sound is projected through out with

[1krispy1, 01/03/2007] First of all the performing artists present their shows in the round. Boettcher Concert Hall was the first so designed hall in the United States. The way the seating is constructed puts the audience right in the thick of the action. Most of the seats (80%) are within 65 feet of the stage. Almost close enough the listener can tell what color the musician's eyes are (well maybe not quite). No seat is beyond 100 feet of the stage. I have always sat in front of the artist but in most of the hall to the front or side. I have also enjoyed feeling surprised when after climbing several flights of sta

[1krispy1, 25/02/2007] I spent an afternoon with the fishes at the Downtown Aquarium in Denver recently. The Downtown Aquarium is a fairly large aquarium at a million gallons. It was fairly expensive entry fee and there is a charge for parking. The attraction is laid out in a manner that the visitor it taken down a path or walkway in one direction to view each of the exhibits. Being these are fish we are looking at the viewer must look behind glass to enjoy the exhibits. This makes for challenging photography as they glass is also pretty reflective.
There were a couple of places were one walks under the fish so

[1krispy1, 25/02/2007] I have been to the Denver Botanic Gardens on a number of occasions. However these were always around concerts that my son was involved in. I would listen then leave.
This trip was different. I was on a mission. I knew the first thing I wanted to visit was the Tropical Conservatory. It was the Orchids and bromeliads that I want to photograph. It was very interesting. The building has a path that twists around the inside walls and traverses the interior of the tropical forest. I did the path several times, flowers were everywhere and it took a couple of times to get the pictures I was after.

[1krispy1, 18/02/2007] My son and I just enjoyed a day at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. This is a huge facility located in the northern part of the City of Denver. It was originally built in 1904.
My favorite parts include a walk through the prehistoric times. It goes from the time when the earth was a primordial soup with very simple life forms. The visitors walk along a path on which the exhibited creatures get more and more advanced. Moving to the dinosaurs the hall gets filled up in a hurry as one could imagine as these guys are huge. One depicts an Allosaurus attacking a Stegosaurus. Included are

[1krispy1, 11/02/2007] After several weeks of true winter weather and years since my last visit I felt it was time to go to the Denver Zoo again. I did just that.
The weather was fairly cool and some of the more tropical animals were not outside. That was a small manner in most cases as the majority of the more cold intolerant beasts were inside and viewable. This would include many of the primates and the giraffes for example.
Many of the animals were outside. As mentioned I have not been to the zoo in years. One of the major changes has been the creation of "Predator Ridge". This is a large exhibit for lions

[1krispy1, 27/01/2007] Denver International Airport is the replacement for Stapleton International Airport. At the time it was finished it was the largest airport in the world in terms of land mass. It is still in the top five. It is also the fifth busiest airport in the United States.
During the construction of the airport American Indian Holy men came to the site to bless it. Also found on the site were dinosaur remains including a T-Rex.
It is serviced by many different airlines including United, American, Delta, Continental, Southwest and Frontier which is Denver based. United uses Denver as one of its maj
