[more]Hotel Hostal Loreto is a comfortable, family run hotel with 43 bedrooms and a lively café / restaurant. The building dates from the sixteenth century and is a former nunnery. It is located in a pedestrian area in the medieval centre of the old town close to many shops and restaurants and overlooked by a Moorish castle. It is rumoured that a secret tunnel ran from the old nunnery to the castle. Within a short walking distance of the hotel are 20 kilometres of beautiful beaches, excellent ferry links to Ibiza and the Balearics (Majorca and Minorca) and train and bus stations. The trip to Ibiza takes just over two hours on the fast ferry. The journey time from Alicante airport or Valencia airport to Denia is about an hour by car on the AP-7 motorway. The city itself is a bustling historic port with its own fishing fleet and two marinas protected by the hilltop castle and surrounded by acres of orange groves. The hotel has an excellent restaurant and can offer half and full pension arrangements if required. Continental breakfast is included in the price of the room. It is also possible to enjoy a snack or a drink at any time of day on our busy street terrace or in our tranquil internal 16th century patio.
