[12/04/2006] Drs. Claesen (hosted by e-traveller) stayed in 2006 in the ITC Hotel Maurya Sheraton & Towers. In his stay report he compares the recent stay with his last one. He was "personnel recognised" from his last stay. He was upgrade to an "executed room on the executed floor" which was just a week open.
His room was "smaller than the Tower rooms, but ... quite comfortable". There was "large comfortable bed, a comfy chair to watch the flat square TV". Tea and Coffee facilities were also available in the room.
He describes the bathroom as "small", but "adequate and nice".
The view out of his room was "better" than from the Tower rooms, as he could see the green gardens and park.
The Executive Lounge is described by Drs. Claesen as "quite comfortable" and "spacious" and offered a "nice view". Only "old coffee, tea and some cookies" were offered, while the Towers Lounge is described as "one of the best" he had ever experienced. He summarised the comparison by Towers and Executive Room with the statement "Tower rooms offer much more than the executive rooms".
The treatment in the Spa he took was "very relaxing", while the fitness room "could do with some upgrading" so could the sauna. The pool was refurbished during his stay.
He pointed out, the food in the Restaurant Pavillion is "truly delicious" and breakfast "superb". Service is described as "friendly" and "with a smile". He writes down, that a Businessmen told him on his flight to Bombay about the food in the restaurant.
Checking out is described by the author as "pleasant" and he was told, he should contact the hotel concerning is preferences for his next stay. His first experience with the reception is described as "rude".
His overall impression is quite well, he had a "very pleasant stay" in a "comfortable" and "luxurious" hotel, which had become one of his "favourite Starwood properties in the world".
