[more]The Ai-Ais / Richtersveld Transfrontier Park is a region of rugged natural landscapes which spans an area of approximately 6 045 km and is located on either side of the South Africa / Namibia border. It includes the gorge of the Orange River as well as the Fish River Canyon, which is arguably the 2nd largest Canyon worldwide. The region has a distinctive geological history which dates back about 2 000 million years and it is also particularly known for its wealth of succulent flora. The Park includes a number of wilderness camps and other camping facilities.
