Gabrielle Proctor described Fawsley Hall as a "lovely" and "imposing" Tudor manor house. She stayed in the Victorian wing and her room there was "huge" and "luxurious" with "spectacular" views. She mentioned that the rooms in the Georgian and Tudor wings "looked equally spacious", but the modern extension was a "disappointment" with "cramped" and "bland" feeling rooms.
The "charming" restaurant manager provided "expert" advice on the wine throughout the meal. Gabrielle said that the menu combined "traditional" cooking with modern, local ingredients. She felt that it was a "success" and the food was "sublime", although with not much for vegetarians. She mentioned an array of foods that that they managed to eat. After dining she went to the Great Hall which was a "magnificent" Elizabethan room with a "huge" open fireplace and comfy sofas.
Gabrielle mentioned that the spa was not cheap, but was "supremely relaxing" and the staff "knowledgable". The hotel has 2000 acres of parkland where you can go for a walk and she mentioned tennis courts and jogging tracks.
For Gabrielle, aside from the "beautiful setting" and "wonderful" facilities, it was the staff who made the place such a "joy" to visit.
