Sultaniye Thermal baths is located on the Koycegiz Lake, my wife and I visited here while on a boat trip and our captain knew the best time to arrive before it was overrun with tourists.

Upon arrival a man moored the boat and said we paid for the use of the facilities on leaving the baths. We got off the boat and first we went to the mud baths. As I have done this before I just watched as people wallowed in the mud slapping it allover themselves until they were covered. A stone seating area beside the mud bath was ideal for waiting while the mud hardened.
Once hardened you need to shower the mud off before going into the thermal bath, two ways of doing this in the open air showers or just diving into the sea off the man made platform.

Make sure all silver jewellery is removed before entering the thermal bath as it reacts with the water and turns green.
Steps lead into the baths, these are quite steep and you need to be careful as they are slippy so best to hold onto the handrails. The stench from the water is just like rotten eggs and is overpowering and the water looks a murky grey, not very welcoming. The water is hotter than the last thermal baths I had been to and it took some time to get laid in the water, but once there you body starts to relax and all the aches and pains just seem to fade away.

We stayed in for about 20 minutes just as the crowds arrived, showered and went for a walk to see what else was at the Sultaniye. There is a cafe selling snacks and drinks, gift shop, 2 indoor thermal baths with blue domed roofs and white washed cylindrical walls and another outdoor bath that nobody was using as it was around the corner from the gathering masses. So this will be the direction I take if I return and find the other bath full.

Time to get on the boat and leave, the man returns before we go and we pay him for what we used 4 Turkish Lira for a mud bath and 4 Turkish Lira for the spa bath which is £3.40 for both.

Would I go back, yes for the thermal bath as this does make you feel great and if you have never been to one before I would definitely recommend it.
