[10/10/2010] The Canbulat Museum and Tomb are located in the Canbulat Bastion which is a part of the old Venetian City Walls that surrounds the entire historical Old Town of Famagusta. The Canbulat Bastion is situated at the most Southern tip of the fortification and sports its own gate, which offers either entry to the Old Town or exit from it towards Maras and the Palm Beach Hotel.
The most interesting about this small museum, apart from its location within these impressive walls, is probably the story behind it.
As the legend goes Canbulat, who was a Bey or governor in a Turkish Province, signed up to

[29/09/2010] Bedi's Restaurant and Bar and the beach with the same name are located directly next to the ruins of ancient Salamis, roughly a ten minute drive towards the north from Famagusta's Old Town. The ruins are arguably the main attraction in this area, and rightfully so, and as well signed out as you'd expect them to be. So finding your way here is not a problem.
[24/05/2010] St Hilarion is one of three fortresses that have been built high up in the mountains of the Beşparmak range. The other two are Kantara and Buffavento and St Hilarion is not only arguably the best preserved but also, in my opinion, one of the must-see places if visiting the northern part of Cyprus.
To reach there you'll need to follow to the dual carriageway that connects Girne with Nicosia. St Hilarion is located on the western side of the road and signed out. Once you find the turning you'll follow a narrow and winding road up into the mountains. You'll pass from a Turkish Army Base that is

[29/05/2008] D&B Café is a bistro-style restaurant and café located right in the heart of the Old Town. They are specialised in Italian pizza and offer in and outdoor seating.
[26/05/2008] Thanks to Shakespeare the so-called Othello tower in Famagusta is probably one of the most visited attractions in the Northern part of Cyprus. He used "a seaport in Cyprus" as a setting for his play, named the main character after a Venetian governor and a legend was born.
[26/05/2008] If there is one restaurant in Northern Cyprus which you "must have" visited, then it is probably Emir'in Yeri in Yeni Boğaziçi. They are specialised in meze dishes but also offer Kebabs and fish and have arguably the best outside dining area in the area.
[25/05/2008] Kantara Castle is located at a height of ca 700 metres above sea-level at the easternmost point of the Kantara mountain range, about 3 km to the east of the small mountain village Kantara. Together with Buffavento and St Hilarion it belongs to a group of 3 medieval crusader castles that can be found along the mountain range.
[24/05/2008] Petek is probably the first place where all locals and tourist guides will send you to, as it is THE must see place in Famagusta as far as eating is concerned.
[24/05/2008] Haci'nin Yeri is a small restaurant with arguably the best kebab in Famagusta.
[20/03/2008] Kaplica Beach Hotel is located about half an hours drive to the east of Kyrenia, at the entrance to the small village Kaplica (formerly Dhavlos). To miss the hotel, if you are coming from Kyrenia, is nearly impossible. It is not only the first building of the village that you will reach but also located in a beautiful bay and the wall towards the street features some very striking paintings of all sorts of sea creatures. Often there are also some small stands where you can buy hand crafted items and fruit. Approaching the hotel from the Famagusta side of the island you will have to take the mo
