The territory:
Arenas is a bay west of Sardinia, located in the province of Oristano, belonging to the municipalities of Cuglieri, Narborough and San Vero Milis. Access is along State Road 292 and turning towards the sea near the border between the territories of Narborough and Cuglieri.
The name means sand arenas because the bay was originally characterized by the presence of a large expanse of inland dunes stretching over about 700 hectares, the largest of Sardinia. This small desert is unique in Europe and has, since 1950, been the subject of an extensive reforestation work with the addition of various species, especially pines and acacias, and currently there are only a few stretches of sand dunes. From the beach, sandy and pleasantly surrounded by pine trees, you can see the massive Montiferru.
Winter temperatures rarely fall below 12 º C, the summer temperaturs only occasionally exceed 33 ° C.
