[more]Paycocke's is a 15th century merchants house and renowned as a fine example of late Gothic / Tudor architecture. The half-timbered building is unusually rich in intricate wood carving and panelling and stands as an example for the wealth the wool trade had brought to the area during the 15th and 16th century.
Inside of the house you can see a display of the famous Coggeshall lace and the cottage garden behind the house is also open for visitors.
Admission fee:
Adults £3, children £1.50, combined tickets for Grange Barn and Paycocke's are available.
Paycocke's is administered by the National Trust, entrance for members is free.
Please note that children need to be accompanied at all times.
Wheelchair access only to the ground floor, upper floors are only accessible via stairs.
