On the border between Umbria and Tuscany, located on a hill 500 meters above sea level, sits the town of Città della Pieve. Overlooking the Valdichiana (valley of the Chiana river) and Lake Trasimeno, Città della Pieve has a rich historical and artistic patrimony.
THE PARK HOTEL LOGGE DEL PERUGINO, a carefully restored historic villa, is a "Hotel de Charme” nestled in the charming setting that inspired Leonardo da Vinci and Pietro Perugino.
It is an exclusive venue, where the splendour of a prestigious neo-Renaissance villa is framed by a sumptuous park which also includes an enchanting swimming pool with hydro massage, an Italian garden and many other refinements. For those seeking relaxation and renewal, nothing is better than a cycle of treatments at our Danae Beauty Center. The Center has a Turkish bath, shower solarium and personnel qualified in a variety of massage techniques from all over the world: in addition to esthetic massages, our staff can offer Arabian ritual massage, Mediterranean ritual massage, Indian ritual massage, Comfort Touch, Hot Stone Massage …and these are only some of the treatments available.
From here it is easy to proceed to the pleasures of the palate in our restaurant which features authentic Umbrian specialties; and our guests can also enjoy themselves taking cooking classes, participating in food and wine tastings and in themed evenings.
Our facilities: 24 double guest rooms (5 of superior quality). All rooms have air conditioning, telephones, satellite TV, safes, wireless internet connection and refrigerated bar.
In a tranquil and secluded position near the Porta Perugina, which opens onto the historic center of Città della Pieve, an elegant 18th century building, tinted rose and grey, seems to withstand the passing of time.
It is the Park Hotel Logge del Perugino; it is an historic noble residence now open to our fortunate guests. Here you can be assured that your expectations will be satisfied – and your senses too – by the sophisticated, high quality materials with which the residence is generously endowed – coffered ceilings, inlaid marble tile floors, ornamented stucco – all of which characterize the entire construction.
Restored in its entirety thanks to the knowledgeable work of architects Puleo e Innamorati, it took the name of Pietro Vannucci called Perugino, a celebrated Renaissance artist born in Città della Pieve and teacher of Raphael. A splendid Italian garden greets the visitor with an evocative atmosphere created by palms, boxwood hedges, and antique roses and geraniums in large terra cotta urns. Another pleasant surprise – from a secluded niche of the garden, emerges a little clearing with a romantic gazebo covered in wisteria and roses with tables set for afternoon tea.
From here, if you look on the horizon, you can see a medieval convent where it is possible to attend a sung mass in the early morning.
Everyone is invited to relax once more before reentering the hotel: the park also contains a lovely swimming pool with a corner dedicated to hydro massage, and an English lawn with chaises longues for your sunbathing pleasure.
Every detail recalls the aristocratic attitude of the good life (bien vivre) which the Logge del Perugino interprets so thoroughly and so well.
Inside, a small American bar can be found across from the reception desk and the breakfast room. Everything is furnished with elegance, refinement and restraint in the classic Tuscan tradition. In the public rooms, the continual play of colors and textures recall the glories of the past: rich textiles in linen and velvet, antique furniture, tiles signed by the artisans of Sassi di Assisi, and a large library containing books of art, art history and information about the surrounding territory which are at the disposition of our treasured guests.
