The Estate Little Princess ruins are positioned four miles away, while the Salt River Bay National Park & Ecological Preserve is located 11 miles from the resort. Hotel Features. This resort has been family owned since it opened in 1948. The property boasts three separate beaches, including Whistler Beach that can only be accessed by pathway. An offshore reef offers swimming and snorkeling conditions at Grotto Beach. Complimentary scuba diving lessons are taught at an adjacent freeform outdoor pool. Snorkeling gear and kayak use is complimentary. The Mermaid restaurant offers salads, sandwiches, wraps, tropical drinks, a children's menu and desserts on Mermaid Beach. Additional resort dining options include The Terrace, an open air venue located in the main Great House. Dinner selections include Salmon Poached in Red Wine and Jerk Conch Fritters. The Grotto Grill offers an American style lunch menu and bar service. Live music is performed at The Terrace Bar. The resort includes an 18 hole championship golf course and eight tennis courts. Guestrooms. The Buccaneer offers 138 guestrooms and family only suites housed within 21 one and two story buildings. Rooms and suites extend onto ocean or mountain view balconies or terraces.
