For lunch or an evening meal, The Cherry Tree in the village is within walking distance, and serves excellent fresh food cooked by their French chef.
If booking the garden lodge, there is a hob, microwave, toaster and kettle in the kitchen area for your breakfast requirements. Tables are also on the veranda for breakfast or evening wine in the sun. We are at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, in a small village only 2 miles from junction 6 on the M40. Oxford is a 20-minute drive (to the convenient park and ride system), or a bus goes to the city centre every 10 minutes, from a bus stop 2 miles away.
London is accessible by bus every 10 minutes, or by train from Princes Risborough, 4 miles away. London Marlybone can be reached in 40 minutes.
Places of interest include: Windsor Castle, Blenheim Palace, Waddesden Manor, Hampton Court, Clivedon, (notorious for the Profumo scandle in the 60s), and the Chiltern Hills where there are plenty on footpaths, including the Ridgeway.
River-side towns include Henley and Marlow. You can see Grand Prix racing at Silverstone, jousting knights at Warwick Castle, beautiful scenery in the Cotswolds, Disraeli’s home at Hughendon Manor, and shopping at Bicester Village.
You could also visit Le Manoir aux Quats Saisons, Raymond Blanc’s restaurant; Chinnor steam railway; Bletchley Park; and the Swan antique centre and restaurant. We are also in the middle of the Midsummer Murder trail.From Oxford or London junction 6 M40 / A40, take the B4009 towards Princes Risborough for 2 miles. Take the first left in Kingston Blount, and drive 300yds past village green. Turn right into Brook Street then immediately left down a drive to the end and through the automatic secure wooden gates. From Thame take the B4445 South to Chinnor. Once in Chinnor turn right at the mini roundabout onto the B4009. It is then 1.5 miles to Kingston Blount. Take the last right, and drive for 300 yards, past the village green.
