[snailo80, 29/06/2010] This hotel was a real gem of a find. Everything about it was fantastic, with great attention to details. The room was large and spacious. It was modern on the inside but classic on the outside. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever experienced. My friend and I even asked at front desk how they made them so comfortable!
The bathroom was large with marble finish. The shower had a large overhead rain shower head - bliss after a busy day sightseeing.
The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the John Hancock building - a useful landmark if you get lost! Also only 5 minutes from

[tjashford, 01/04/2010] Management has obviously sold the staff on the notion of being polite to guests and treating them right. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, which I really appreciated. Everyone made eye contact, smiled, and said hello. Bell staff, Housekeeping, room service all were very, very helpful courteous and out-of-sight polite.
We were on 16th floor. No street noise other than sirens (which were only a few). The room was incredibly comfortable and amazingly clean. The Housekeeping staff obviously takes their job seriously and it showed. We were traveling with 2 young children and I would

[williscory25, 22/11/2009] The Avenue Hotel is a great business hotel with an unbeatable location and great amenities. The rooms were top-notch and everything about my visit went smoothly.
The hotel is a short walk to the Magnificent Mile and all the shops and restaurants you could want. If not for my business trip and more personal time was available it would have been ideal. I must make a point of making it back here for a more relaxing trip in the near future.
My room was clean, comfortable and had a great view. The amenities were great and the bed was unbelieveable. I don’t remember ever having such a good

[klane445, 26/10/2009] We found Avenue hotel on a bargain hotel website for a spur-of-the moment trip to Chicago. We found it to be within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile and a very good rate, so we decided to go for it. Normally we can't afford a decent hotel within the city, but I guess we got lucky. When we arrived at the Avenue hotel we loved the sophisticated but not stuffy decor and we were warmly greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from the doorman, who quickly assisted us with our luggage. Our room was very clean and well-kept. My husband thought it was a bit small, but in the city, that's to b

[koshkha, 11/09/2009] I've only been to Chicago once and it was a really brief visit of less than 24 hours. My flight over had been delayed by a few hours and by the time my colleague had picked me up and taken me to the Ambassador East hotel, we were way behind schedule. The building dates to the 1920s and entering it was a little like going back in time. There lobby had a high ceiling and chandeliers and lots of sofas.
When the receptionist said "I'm terribly sorry but you're so late that we had to give your room to someone else", my heart sank to my shoes. Then he looked up at me, smiled and said "So we're

[marymartin, 31/08/2009] My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one night and had a great experience. We live in Chicago and occasionally enjoy getting away for a night or two in a hotel downtown. I would consider the Avenue Hotel a chique boutique hotel. It was modern, and yet extremely comfortable not to mention in an excellent location that is walking distance to everything important like shopping, restaurants, bars etc. The staff was very friendly and gave us an incredible room with a view of the city. No matter how long you live here you never get tired of the skyline at night. I would definitely recommend

[1krispy1, 03/08/2009] On the way home from the Ohio leg of our cross country road trip we stopped in Chicago to visit my daughter. During our visit we picked the Museum of Science and Industry in the city to visit. So we got out to the car and headed south to the city.
The museum is an amazing place to visit. It is very large and fully packed with interesting things related to science and the industry all around us that takes the lessons taught to us by science and gives them a practical application.
There is plainly too much to see in a single days visit. So we narrowed our selections and picked the U 505 a
