[snailo80, 29/06/2010] This hotel was a real gem of a find. Everything about it was fantastic, with great attention to details. The room was large and spacious. It was modern on the inside but classic on the outside. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever experienced. My friend and I even asked at front desk how they made them so comfortable! The bathroom was large with marble finish. The shower had a large overhead rain shower head - bliss after a busy day sightseeing. Highly recommended by Frommer's comes this "historic hotel" from the Millenium Group. Following a recent "major face-lift" the hotel features a "spiffy" lobby now but is let down by the rooms which still feature a "shabby-chic feel". The author informs us about the colourful history of the Knickerbocker and comes to the result that the hotel might have been "brought back to life" but has lost its "past glamour".
