Description Embassy Suites Chicago-Downtown
The Embassy Suites Chicago, situated in Downtown, is a three star hotel. The Magnificent Mile shopping area is only three blocks away and other attractions such as the Civic Opera House, Lake Michigan, Lincoln Park Zoo and the Museum of Contemporary Art are only a short distance away.
Instead of guest rooms, the Embassy Suites Chicago offers each guest one of the 455 two-room suite which includes a bedroom and living room. Living areas come equipped with a queen sized sofa bed as well as room to eat and a work table. Bedrooms come with either one king sized bed or two double beds. Extras in rooms include Microwave, Mini-Refrigerator, Coffee Maker, safes and flat screen televisions with on-demand films. Accessible, smoking and non-smoking suites are available.
Other amenities at The Embassy Suites Chicago comprise of complimentary cooked to order breakfast, fitness center, indoor heated pool and whirlpool and spa services both in and out of suites. High speed internet access is available throughout the hotel for an added fee. Business meetings can be catered for up to 300 people.
The Ambler's - Becker's Texaco Service Station dates back to 1933 and served the travellers on the Route 66. Later on it became the Marathon Oil Station and under this name has served customers until 1998.
In the meantime the building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and restored to the way it would have looked during the 1940's.
The building serves now as a Route 66 welcome and information center.
