[more]The Old Manse Hotel was built for the Baptist minister, Benjamin Beddome, in 1748. It was a gift from the locals so that he would not be tempted away to work in London or Bristol.
For guests' comfort, the whole building is now non-smoking. This includes the bar area and all rooms.Two feature rooms have views of the river and front patio area. Two other rooms also face the river and are located on the second floor. Eight main hotel rooms are compact double rooms, some with a bath and shower and others with just showers. Please note that some bedrooms have the washbasin in the bedroom, not in the bathroom. The 3 remaining rooms are in the cottage behind the hotel. These are normally the quieter rooms.
Please be aware that the hotel has no lift or ground floor rooms.Bourton-On-The-Water is a beautiful, traditional Cotswold village. The River Windrush, which is just a few inches deep, flows right through the village and is a favourite with children during the summer months.
The village attractions include the model village; Birdland; the maze (good fun for all ages); the motor museum, which is a must-visit; and the monthly farmers’ market. Bourton is an ideal base from which to visit the rest of the Cotswolds, and beautiful Stratford Upon Avon is just half an hour away by car.
By Car
- From the A429, take the turning signposted to Bourton-on-the-Water.
- Follow signs to the town centre.
- The hotel is on the river bank, opposite the war memorial.
The Old Manse is a delightful, relaxed country hotel, restaurant and pub overlooking the River Windrush.
The Old Manse was built in 1748 and has 15 cosy, individual en suite bedrooms.
Meals and snacks can be enjoyed in the restaurant, bar, heated garden terrace and riverside patio. Real Ale, carefully selected wines and speciality teas and coffees are served in the bar.
Stroll around the quaint village of Bourton and explore the historic area of outstanding natural beauty. Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
