Compiled for you: The facts!Details Nambung National Park

Description: Nambung National Park surrounds the Nambung River and the town of Cervantes. It's landmark attraction is the Pinnacles, but it is a large park and includes a stretch of coastline, which include beaches and dune systems. There are several deserts, including the Red and White ones near the Pinnacles and the Painted Desert further South. At each end of the park there are nature reserves.

Besides exploring the Pinnacles, other attractions include wildflower watching, picnicking, swimming, fishing and snorkelling. Other attractions which can be reached a few kilometres from the park entrance are Kangaroo Point and Hangover Bay. Both have picnic areas, gas barbecues and Kangaroo Point has toilets.

Facilities at the park are barbecues, information panels, tables and toilets. There are no camping areas in the national park but accommodation and other services are available in Cervantes

The park is about three hours drive from Perth city centre and the entrance is off Cervantes Road, which runs off Brand Highway. It attracts visitor a year round in fine weather, although the best season is said to be during September and October when the wildflowers are blooming.
