New trivago reviews
[johnbcuthbert, 05/04/2010] The exhibition is based on the 1945 film 'Brief Encounter' starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard. This colours the exhibition somewhat as all is geared towards the film with regular showings throughout the opening hours. The exhibition away from the film is very good with plenty of history of the station and of steam railways. The atmosphere is helped by the regular noise of the Virgin West Coast 'Pendolinos' rushing North and South at 100+ mph. To avoid accidents there is now no main line access at Carnforth and the main line platforms have been moved back and fenced.
