Described as the largest shopping and entertainment centre on the African continent, Canal Walk consists of so-called "Cape Venetian architecture" buildings which house more than 400 shops, approximately 40 food and beverage venues and its own television station at the promotions court. Each of the many entrances offer designated parking areas for disabled patrons. Exhibitions and expo's are often held at Canal Walk, live events are staged regulary and there is a visitors centre to assist tourists, foreign exchange bureaux and banks, cinemas, games arcade, interactive science centre and much more.
