[sydney_b, 19/09/2011] As there are many nice shops and restaurants on Kloof Street, I was not surprised to find that The Opal Lounge was yet another good find. I was surprised however, at just how good it was! The restaurant, which deems itself "Cape Town's most beautiful restaurant" did in fact present some of the most beautifully arranged, melt-in-your-mouth dishes I've ever seen / tasted. That said, I was not as impressed by the restaurant's decor. The dishes presentation were extremely modern and minimalistic, however the restaurant itself felt outdated and a bit formal. Either way, the atmosphere was still enjoy

[sydney_b, 16/09/2011] The Neighbourgoods Market located within the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town's Woodstock district is one of my favorite spots. The hustle and bustle of local South Africans and a few lucky tourists can be found every Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. With everything from native South African snacks such as Biltong to clothes made by local designers, to hand jarred-jams and even early afternoon drinks, this is the place to be on Saturday mornings.
[pierrejacques, 30/01/2010] The Waterfront Boat Company operates a fleet of vessels which include a Catamaran, the sailboat "Spirit of Victoria" and various motorised boats. I've had the pleasure of being aboard a few cruises of varying duration and at various times of day, including a trip to Robben Island and a number of their sunset cruises. The latter is by far my favourite as it affords the opportunity to see the sun sink into the ocean and return as the lights along the coast come on. Naturally one also has a totally different perspective of the City, Table Mountain, Signal Hill and Robben Island.

[ctworeck, 23/10/2009] The red open top Sightseeing buses are the best way to get around. The Red route includes a stop at Table Mountain's cableway and the Blue route is out of town to the Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens and Hout Bay. The views are stunning! and there are 14 languages to choose from. Great value, loads of information - a must do!
[Cape-Town, 12/08/2008] Affordable bed & breakfast accommodation with good service.
[Cape-Town, 12/08/2008] Wonderful party venue, great service and friendly atmosphere.
[Cape-Town, 12/08/2008] Great atmosphere, food and a good place to get in touch with the gay community of De Waterkant.
[Cape-Town, 12/08/2008] A completely different experience for a club or bar that i have ever been to. I don't think that anything else like this exists in South Africa
[Jason, 03/05/2008] The welcome is warm and genuine and the staff have an enormous passion for what they do. The interior is a treasure trove of seven themed dining rooms containing artworks, African murals and lights from recycled materials. The dinner is a ritual encompassing traditional hand-washing, a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes, stylishly dressed waitresses and the food is served on ceramics from their own studio.
Check out the Hornbill Jug Menu! You can buy one in the Shop downstairs.
You pay one price for a bottomless menu including dessert and coffee. Choose a freshly-made African Fruit co

[click4chick, 23/03/2008] Do not even think about staying on a Friday or Saturday. The constant, repetitive deep booming noise which vibrated throughout the building until 4.a.m. coupled with the uncontrolled screeching of the Purple Turtle nightclub's patrons made me ill. (It is in the same building block as the hotel.) A complaint to the reception was met with a shrug of the shoulders and an enquiry as to whether I would like to write to the manager.
The food is reasonable, but far better is available in local restaurants at lower prices.
[pierrejacques, 12/01/2008] The Tudor Hotel is conveniently located on Greenmarket Square, adjacent to the Park Inn, which happens to have an intimate and cosy bar. It is the oldest hotel in Cape Town and therefore has such oddities as a minute, cranky elevator and somewhat small rooms. The bathroom was small and somewhat claustrophobic, consisting only of a toilet, shower and art deco basin. There is no restaurant or bar on the premises, but plenty of those are in the direct vicinity so it didn't pose a problem. The Tudor does, however, have a full breakfast buffet. This was ample but tended to be a bit monotonous after

[pierrejacques, 12/01/2008] The sightseeing bus tour offers two itineraries viz. the so-called Red Route and the Blue Route. Discounted tickets for persons taking both tours are available and, being reasonably priced at approximately 18 Euro for both itineraries, I consider this the most hassle free method of gaining a brief overview of the most popular tourist spots. Buses run at intervals of approximately 30 minutes and each route offers a selection of 13 stops. Being able to hop-on and hop-off, one can decide whether you wish to not explore a specific sight more closely or to remain behind and spend more time there un

[neil4sa, 11/10/2007] The Argus is the largest public cycle ride in the world. 40,000 riders turn out from around the globe to ride the difficult 109km race.
It's a stunning ride around the table mountain range.
I participated in April of 2006 and learned a few very valuable lessons:
1) Wear sunblock
2) Make sure you have a big, heavily padded seat
3) Make sure you have music with you and a FULLY CHANGED battery
4) Wear a water back-pack ...you'll need it
5) Cary 6 packs of "Goo" with you
Although the ride took me 5 hours and 15 minutes and I couldn't walk for a week, it was well worth the experienc
