The Argus is the largest public cycle ride in the world. 40,000 riders turn out from around the globe to ride the difficult 109km race.
It's a stunning ride around the table mountain range.
I participated in April of 2006 and learned a few very valuable lessons:
1) Wear sunblock
2) Make sure you have a big, heavily padded seat
3) Make sure you have music with you and a FULLY CHANGED battery
4) Wear a water back-pack ...you'll need it
5) Cary 6 packs of "Goo" with you
Although the ride took me 5 hours and 15 minutes and I couldn't walk for a week, it was well worth the experience and it's something I don't think I'll ever forget.
