[more]Long Street Backpackers enjoys a location right in the heart of Cape Town and is one of the oldest established hostels in the city. Numerous restaurants, cafes and bars surround it but it also provides an ideal base for those wishing to explore the tourist attractions.
There are 16 rooms that each contain between 2 and 5 beds, these include rooms with double and twin beds. None of the rooms have their own bathroom but all of them have a shared bathroom nearby.
Facilities at the hostel include a bar, a communal kitchen with cooking facilities and utensils and a TV room with cable channels available. There is also Internet access, a pool table and an outdoor terrace with barbecue facilities.
Long Street Backpackers has been voted "The No.1 hostel in Africa" by independent sources.
A laundry is also available and the reception can assist with organising tours and provide maps and guides.
