Hidden behind bushes just off the A2 near the village of Dunkirk - the Travelodge for Cantebrury is a fairly unassuming and dull 2 storey building. Sharing a site with a Little Chef and a Petrol Station with shop, the accomodation provides for travellers who are either visiting this end of Kent, or need a stop on the way to the Channel Ports (like I did).
Parking is fairly meager as it shares with the Little Chef, and access is tricky - the slip road fills up with HGVs stopping for the night, and because the A2 is barriered along the median - you need to drive eastwards to the village of Harbledown to cross over and return up the westbound carriageway. Obviously if you approach from the East there's no problem - but you will need to drive off at Dunkirk to cross over to gain access to the Eastbound A2 again....
The rooms were refurbished, and in better condition than the hallways, and aside from a soft bed I had no real complaints. Rates start from £16 in the super sales, and I paid £32 for each of 2 nights at fairly short notice.

Bed was a bit soft, but bathroom was very clean, and rest of room was acceptable.
Slightly annoyed that the bed hadn't been changed the next day, all they had done was tidy the sheets up.
Building exterior is very drab and office-looking, but you pay for what you get really.

Reception was a bit dull, with the ubiquitous vending machine peddlign overpriced emergency snacks. Staff were friendly and helpful.

A bit of a hassle to get to if you're on the wrong side of the carriageway - but it is conveniently located for the Channel Ports and the motorways nearby.
Road noise was fine as hotel is hidden behind plenty of bushes.
