The Ebury hotel used to be "two, circa 1840, Victorian homes" in the past. Nowadays "it's resolutely old-fashioned", but "it sees no need to change with the prevailing mood". The author's single room has such features like "tiny single bed", "one little picture on the wall", "one wee box of soap", etc. His opinion is - "a single room in all departments". At the premises are situated "an indoor swimming pool and two self-catering cottages" and a "public sitting room".
