Guests and Royal Resorts members staying at The Royal Mayan have an archaeological site on their doorstep. San Miguelito is a small Mayan ruin in the jungle between the resort and Kukulcan Blvd. The site dates from the Post-Classic period of Mayan history A.D. 900-1521 when Cancun was settled by traders, farmers and fishermen. The Mayan theme is continued in the art and sculptures that enhance the decor at The Royal Mayan. Each of the 200 two bedroom two bathroom villas is completely furnished and equipped with all the comforts of home. The large terrace accessible from both bedrooms and the living room offers spectacular views of the resort, the pools, the lagoon or the Caribbean Sea. The villas are equipped with everything from dinnerware to a dishwasher... from a corkscrew for your wine to a blender for creating your very own tropical delights. The flexivilla design allows the villa to be used as a whole for up to six people or to be divided into two independent units: a one bedroom suite sleeping four, two in the master bedroom and two on the Murphy Bed in the living room, and a hotel room sleeping two. When the unit is used as two separate entities, the sliding glass doors from the second bedroom to the main terrace are shuttered and locked thereby ensuring privacy for both parties. La Palapa is an open air restaurant situated between the pools at The Royal Mayan offering excellent food, unique drinks, prompt service and great views. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, La Palapa features American favorites such hamburgers as well as delicious Mexican dishes such as Fajitas and Sopa de Lima (Lime Soup).The Royal Mayan's premier restaurant offers an evening of fine dining in an elegant, relaxed atmosphere. Perfectly prepared cuisine and attentive service combine to create one of Cancun's finest restaurants. The restaurant is open from 5 - 10 p.m. except Monday. Appropriate attire is requested and reservations required. Live guitar music.To make your stay at The Royal Resorts more enjoyable, our social activities team has created a new program of activities. Each day you'll find sports, games and handcrafts. Please note that the handcraft activities carry a small fee to cover the cost of materials used.**Cancellation Terms:In Christmas season, New Years and Thanksgiving no shows will be charged the full stay, in winter no shows will be charged 2 nights penalty and in summer 1 night penalty. Cancellations made before 72 hours prior to arrival must be notified by fax, otherwise the penalty will be for all the stay.****The resort does not accept Spring Breakers. Should a booking be made, the guests will be turned away upon check-in without refund, unless one member of the party is at least 25 years old. Any reservation accepted under these requirements will require a $500 cash deposit upon check-in to insure there isn't damage and that incidental charges are paid.**
