[06/04/2007] According to the author the hotel is "luxury" and "the most inviting" in Cancun because of its "refined" and "welcoming sense of personal service". The lobby and reception area are "intimate" and the concierge service is "the best" in Cancun". It makes the guests "feel immediately pampered". The hotel is "relatively small" and is more like "elegant boutique" hotel which makes it "a welcome relief". The design of the hotel and the rooms is "classy and comforting" and "not overdone". Rooms are "generous in size", and most of them have "small" balconies with view "to the pool" and " the ocean". The rooms offer "very large marble" bathrooms. The hotel is attractive for "many Europeans" but also "younger, sophisticated travelers" and the author recommend it for "a second honeymoon or romantic break". According to the author "a highlight of -- or even a reason for -- staying" in the hotel is the "Spa del Mar". It is "one of Mexico's most complete" European spa facilities, and lies on "more than 4,570 sq. m". The service is "dedicated to your body and soul" and offers "a complete fitness center", "a health snack bar", "a full-service salon", "steam rooms" and "14 treatment rooms" as well "saunas, whirlpools, cold plunge pool" etc. "Aioli" is one of the 2 restaurants in the hotel and has a "splendid fine-dining value". The hotel is Frommer's Exceptional.
