We used this hotel just as a place to bed down for the night as visiting a sick relative in a nearby hospital and all the staff we ecountered were very friendly and nothing appeared to be too much bother for them. As I said the breakfast was fab and included in the booking price. The lady doing the breakfasts was an absolute star. apologising 3 times for taking too long to serve the main cooked part!! I've never come across anyone who apologises for

The prices are a little bit high, but you can share it with a larger group entering the same boat. This is what we did, and it did not ended so bad on the financial side. But either way, it is totally worth it. We chose the guided tour because I thought we would have great time. I am not sure what we could have done on our own, just looking without being told what we are about to see.
We have seen most

So if you happen to be in Cambridge these lovely summer days, do not hesitate and pay a visit to this extraordinary place.
From the entrance of this place, you start to know so many new facts about daily life in the Chapel as it plays so important place in the life of English people.
I would not go into much details, as I do not want to spoil it all for you, but you should definitely go and visit.
I simply adore it and

It over-looks the large park that's known as Parker's Piece. This is where you'll find lots of sports pitches and plenty of people walking their dogs or taking a stroll. It's right in the heart of the city, close to the shops, restaurants, pubs and colleges. You couldn't really find a better site. I was excited to stay there a few years ago when I had clients visiting from Bulgaria and the company I worked for wanted to impress them with a histori

[bluejules, 09/09/2009] In the summer of 2006 I was offered a place at a summer school in Cambridge. Before being accepted to the summer school I had no idea what Punting was. When I saw it was on the timetable for one of the sessions during the week I decided I should find out!
A punt is a square-ended boat, which has a flat bottom and is usually propelled using a long pole. Punts were introduced to provide stable craft, which could be used in areas of water too shallow for rowing conventional craft.
Punting has now become one of the most popular ways to see the famous bridges and colleges along the River Ca

[Chouchin, 24/11/2008] You can't go far in Cambridge without bumping into a Fitzwilliam. There's a Fitzwilliam Street; little Fitzbillie's is a popular tea shop. A distant cousin, Fitzwilliam College, sits aloofly on the outskirts. But the paterfamilias of the clan, square and majestic in the centre of the city, is the Fitzwilliam Museum. With its classical columns and pediment it looks like the British Museum, without the crowds. It also gives off a "to be taken seriously" aura. This was the place where a hapless visitor tripped over his shoelaces and in the course of his ensuing prat-fall brought down three pricel

[beckie, 25/04/2007] A lovely, character filled hotel in the heart on Cambridge city centre. Just watch out for the car parking.
[PriyanPhoenix, 12/02/2007] While the open-topped bus tours are arguably more informative, punting is the real way to experience Cambridge for its uniqueness. The small boats are propelled using a large pole to push off the bed of the river and although daunting at first it is very easy to pick up.
Two options are available: to hire a punt for your group or to be taken on a guided tour by one of the student chauffeurs. Many will say you should try your hand at punting yourself, but being ferried around can be an equally rewarding, relaxing experience. If you elect to take out a punt on your own, you will pay a flat ra

[Chouchin, 08/11/2006] I was surprised that King's College Chapel was not yet in the catalogue. I thought it was just me not getting out enough, but now it seems you lot haven't visited it either. Do go. Don't put it off or just look at the pictures. It really is a jewel of English gothic architecture.
Middle England and the wider world know King's from the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols broadcast live on Christmas Eve. I usually have it on in the background while I'm contemplating turkey giblets and counting brussel sprouts. There is enough tradition, statistics and myths from this programme alone to make a
